A Long Post

Not for those with ADD, this post just goes on and on. It would probably be a lot better in smaller, easier-to-swallow bites but I am being lazy. This is what happens when you do a ton of things in a small amount of time and wait to post it.

This is one of William's many new tricks. He sits on Dad's shoulders and kisses him on the cheek if Dad makes a clicking noise. Other new tricks to report ... he can now chew food and blow his nose.

After only a few days with his fire truck he is already attempting daredevil stunts like driving with his feet. He tried running over Daddy's face on day two.

THE BIRTHDAY

William and Mia played and giggled all morning on his birthday. For those of you without superhero vision his shirt reads, "Someday I will have a hairy chest". So true.

Opening birthday gifts! Check out his sweet new backpack from Nana & The Duke. And you can't miss Mia's sweet bow.

During the gift opening William rushed over to The Duke to say thanks.

THE PARTY

A feeble attempt at decorating a cake. The only credit it deserves is that it does match the invitations. To all our friends out there who are semi-pro cake makers please don't judge me. I used the fondant as a sticker of sorts. The people at Wilton would probably gasp.

Cutting the cake. Unfortunately William didn't have any but he did get some homemade apple ice cream instead.

Checking out his new fire truck Mamaw got him. Olivia is helping to explain all of its features.

It's not a party without some demolition derby. I'm putting my money on the guy on the John Deere.

Every good birthday party ends with Poppie on the tractor.

THE RENOVATIONS
A little side-by-side before and after should help jog your memory of our den's dark 70's past. There is still a lot to be done but all the big stuff is over with.

Working hard ... we are so thankful for Mom, Dad & Charlie and their wonderful help.

Some faired better than others during the renovations.
